Product Details

Superb example of a 19th Century alabaster Peep Egg with painted floral decoration. There are a pair of knobs fitted to a central axle which spins the viewer, revealing the different scenes. Looking through the circular lens reveals two Victorian views of the town 'Weymouth' and 'Weymouth Royal Terrace' as well as a sample of rocks and sand.

Approximate Measurements:
Height : 4" / 10cm
Width : 2" / 5cm
The whole piece is in excellent condition and a poignant reminder of simpler times. There is some wear to the floral painting and some small knocks to the alabaster but nothing detrimental. The internal scenes are beautifully preserved and very clear.
