A lovely example of a Victorian music cabinet in the Aesthetic style. It has a black ebonised finish with gilt detail and beautiful inlaid burr wood borders with geometric boxwood stringing. It has a glass door flanked by two intricate turned columns which opens to a shelved interior. Each shelf has its original green leather trim with labels for "Songs", "Gen. Music" and "Dance". The top has a raised brass gallery and the whole cabinet stands on four castors.
It is in good condition and displays beautifully. There are some signs of age and use, some wear and small losses to the black ebonised finish, some light surface marks and small knocks and chips here and there but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
