A beautiful mahogany desk chair dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a good quality comfortable chair and is very well made. It is an unusual ornate design with scrolling arms, turned finials and a beautifully carved pierced back-splat. It has an upholstered seat with studded border and it stands on turned legs joined by a double stretcher.
It is approximately 31" (79cm) high and the arms are 24 1/2" (62cm) wide. It is 26" (66cm) deep and the seat is approximately 17 3/4" (45cm) high.
It is in very good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina with a rich colour and is structurally very sound. There are signs of age and use and it is not without a few small marks here and there but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
