An unusual oak Arts and Crafts style bench dating from the early 20th Century. It has a distinctly nautical feel with stylised dolphins either end of the top rail and shell shaped arms. It has a pierced central splat with narrow turned spindles either side and it stands on turned legs joined by stretchers. It has a broad shaped seat, big enough for two to sit comfortably without being overly large.
It is in good condition and the oak has a lovely grain and wonderful rich colour. One back spindle has been replaced but it is a very good match and there is a small repair to another. There are signs of age and use but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and given a light wax and is ready for use.
