A most unusual large ceiling light dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It was originally a gas lamp which has now been converted to electric and you can still see the original tap. It hangs from a lovely rope twist stem which branches into two arms with scrolling detail and leaf and flower decoration. It has two tulip shaped glass shades with slightly frosted glass.
It is in good condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and polished to retain its aged patina. There have been a few old repairs to the metalwork but it displays well.
It has been re-wired to modern standards and takes standard bayonet bulbs. We always recommend that the light is checked and installed by a professional electrician.
