Product Details

An original WW2 Pilot's compass used in Spitfires and other military planes during the war. The compass has its original black painted and the rim is marked "Type 06A. AFT. No.24571.H. AM. Ref No.6A/1248". The compass is liquid filled although only now about half full.

It is in good condition for its age. There are signs of age and use but the paint is in good condition with a few marks and losses but overall it displays well.
The instrument sits in its original box, with the original grey painted finish with hand written red warning notices 'Delicate instrument to be handled with great care' marked on the sides. There are various knocks, scuffs, rust and signs of age and use on the box and it is missing it's handle but it is strong and sturdy and looks good.
