Product Details

Superb example of a stuffed and mounted Fox head. He has been very well preserved and skilfully mounted on an oak shield. He has a snarling, alert expression with an open mouth and bright eyes. He is NOT a modern piece. He has been produced by one of the finest professional taxidermists of the early 20th Century and the quality is fantastic. He is a genuine hunting trophy and there is a plaque on the front which reads "T.V.H. Broadway Pound. Dec.30th 1926. A Good Gallop". The piece is stamped on the reverse of the shield "P.Spicer & Sons. Taxidermist. Leamington".

He is in excellent condition for his age with a good rich colour and thick fur. His teeth and mouth have been beautifully modelled and are in excellent condition. Even his whiskers and finer hairs have been preserved. His eyes are bright and his ears are in good condition. There is the slightest chip to the inside of one front tooth but no other damage to note.
