A lovely small oak chest of drawers dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. They were likely an 'estate-made' set and retain much of their original dark stained finish. There are 4 long drawers, each with a round brass escutcheon and brass plate handles and they stand on small shaped bracket feet. They come with their original working key which locks each drawer.
They are in good condition for their age and are strong and sturdy with a good solid back. There are signs of age and use and they have developed a wonderful rich patina over the years. They have picked up small knocks and marks and there have been various old repairs but nothing detrimental or untoward. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. They have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
