A very useful small oak box dating from the mid to late 18th Century. It has a traditional panelled construction standing on small bracket feet and the lid opens on blacksmith made hinges.
It is a nice plain design and would suit a variety of uses from storage to a bedside table, a plant stand or a coffee table.
It is in good original condition with lots of character and a lovely patina. It has various marks, knocks and signs of age and use but no major damages. There are some stains on the top surface and some small chips and old repairs but it is strong and sturdy and displays well. There are some minor signs of historic woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution.
