Product Details

A good example of a small pocket microscope designed for use in the field to examine small live specimens or botanical specimens. It likely dates from the early 20th century. It has an eye piece and the focus can be achieved by moving the main tube and also the eyepiece. The bottom of the microscope unscrews and has two pieces of glass which allow a specimen to be placed in the bottom and examined through the eyepiece.

The microscope measures approximately 1 1/4" (3cm) high at its smallest size and is approximately 1" (2.5cm) in diameter.

The microscope is in good condition for its age. It has been well used and has normal signs of wear and age. The brass has tarnished over time and there are some small knocks and light marks around the piece but nothing detrimental. The lenses have small specks of dirt on and although in working order it is really being sold as a decorative / collectors item rather than a scientific instrument.
