A lovely oak pedestal desk dating from the early 20th Century. It has nice small proportions with an arrangement of 8 drawers around a central kneehole. Each drawer has its original brass ring pull handles and each pedestal has a plinth base with castors below. The top of the desk has a good quality green leather writing surface with a gilt tooled edge.
It is a good quality piece with panelled sides both inside and outside of the kneehole and the back is nicely finished.
The desk is in good condition for its age and has been well looked after. It has a lovely rich colour and the drawers open well. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy with just some minor marks. There are of course normal signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light surface marks and some slight shrinkage around the leather but nothing detrimental. The leather surface itself is in good condition with just a few minor marks and nicks around the edge. The desk has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
