A good example of a small english Oak Coffer dating from the late 17th Century. It has a traditional panelled construction standing on four block feet. The front and sides are decorated with simple rows of arched carvings. The lid has its original hinges and inside it has its original candle box. It is generally clean and tidy inside with its original floor.
It is in excellent original condition. It has developed a beautiful rich patina and is strong and sturdy. It has avoided being overcarved and is a very pretty well balanced example. There are some signs of age and use, some slight wear to the finish on one side but nothing detrimental and it displays very well. The top part of the lock has been changed at some point and we do not have a key.
