A good quality set of 6 dining chairs dating from the mid 19th Century. They are made of mahogany with a curved back support and they stand on beautifully carved front legs and sweeping back legs.
The seats are extremely comfortable and each seat pad is firm and well cushioned. They are covered in a pale green fabric which does have a couple of minor marks and stains but is perfectly usable as it is or could easily be recovered.
The chairs are in good condition for their age. They have developed a lovely rich colour and patina and display well. There are signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks here and there and slight wear to the finish in places but the joints are good and the chairs are strong and sturdy. They have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
The chairs are a good size and are comfortable to sit in. They are approximately 35" (89cm) high. The seats are 18" (46cm) high to the top of the seat, 17" (43cm) deep and 18" (46cm) wide.
