A lovely set of 6 'penny' chairs dating from the early 20th Century. They have thick round shaped seats, spindle backs and four turned legs joined by a H-stretcher.
The chairs are a good size and are comfortable to sit in. The seats are approximately 17 1/4" (44cm) high and 16" (41cm) wide. The chairs themselves are 31 1/2" (80cm) high. They are in very good condition with a lovely patina. The chairs are firm and the joints are strong. There are a few knocks and light scuffs around the legs and some minor age-related marks here and there but nothing detrimental. They have all been cleaned and lightly polished and they are ready for use.
