A good quality set of 4 balloon back dining chairs dating from the late 19th Century. They are made of mahogany and stand on beautifully carved cabriole front legs.
The sprung seats are extremely comfortable and each seat pad is firm and well cushioned. They are covered in a pretty floral fabric which is in very good condition and compliments the chairs well.
The chairs are in good condition for their age and they have a lovely rich colour and patina. There are signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks here and there but nothing detrimental. There have been a couple of repairs to some of the chairs but the joints are good and the chairs are strong and sturdy. The upholstery is clean and tidy with a couple of minor marks but nothing untoward.
The chairs are a good size and are comfortable to sit in. They are approximately 34" (86cm) high and 17" (43cm) deep. The seats are 18" (46cm) high to the top of the seat, and 19" (48cm) wide.
