Product Details

A good quality set of 4 farmhouse dining chairs dating from the mid to late 19th Century. They have beautifully shaped elm seats with a hoop back enclosing turned spindles and a pierced centre splat with turned roundel. They stand on turned legs joined by H-stretchers.

The chairs stand approximately 35 1/2" (90cm) high. The seats are 17" (43cm) wide, 14" (36cm) deep and 17 13/4" (45cm) high.

They are in very good condition with a nice colour and are strong and stable with no major damages. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks on the seats and around the legs but nothing detrimental. There has been an old wire repair at the top of one leg (see photo) which is very sturdy. There are a few minor signs of historic woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chairs structurally or aesthetically. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
