A good quality set of dining chairs dating from the early 19th Century. They are made of rosewood with a typically stylish regency design - a gently curving back with rope twist detail, turned roundels on the back rail and sabre front and rear legs. The chairs have cane seats with additional good quality fitted cushions with removable covers.
The chairs are in good condition for their age and the cane seats are in excellent condition. They have been well looked after and maintained over the years and as such have a few old repairs including to small breaks on the top rails but they are all strong and sturdy. One chair in the set is a slightly lighter colour than the others, having likely been exposed to a little more sunlight but overall they all have a nice rich patina and display well together as a set. The chairs have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
