A good quality set of 4 North Wales oak side chairs dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. They have shaped top rails inlaid with geometric decoration, solid boarded seats and they stand on square tapering legs joined by stretchers.
The chairs stand approximately 35" (89cm) high. The seats are 18" (46cm) wide, 18" (46cm) high and 14" (36cm) deep.
They are in good original condition with a lovely rich colour and they are all strong and sturdy. There are some signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks on the seats and around the legs and some minor old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. There have been various old repairs over the last 200 + years and there are some minor signs of old worm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chairs structurally or aesthetically. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
