A superb Russian patch box likely dating from the early 20th century. It is made of silver with polychrome enamel decoration. The interior is gilded with a mirror below the lid. It has two small hallmarks on the underneath - one mark is N30 and the other is 916 for the purity of the silver.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There is a very small chip in the blue enamel band (see photo) and the interior gilding is worn in the middle. The hinge is good and the top snaps shut firmly. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and overall it displays very well.
