Product Details

An elegant regency card table dating from the early 19th century. The rosewood top has coromandel banding and the frieze is inlaid with geometric brass stringing on all four sides. The central turned column has ornate ormolu mounts and the legs are also inlaid with brass stringing. The four splayed legs terminate in brass lions paw castors with further ormolu mounts on the knees.

The table opens out into a card table, the inside lined with green baize, and on turning the top it reveals a large storage area below.

It is in good original condition and displays very well as both a card table and a narrow side table. It is strong and sturdy with no major damages and has been gently cleaned and polished. There have been some minor old repairs to the veneer on the edging. It is not without some signs of age and use and there are some minor old water stains and dark scratches on the top surface but overall it displays beautifully.
