A superb tilt-top wine table dating from the early 19th Century. It is made from beautifully figured rosewood and the rectangular top is set on a delicate ring turned support with tripod splayed legs terminating in brass lions paw castors. It is an excellent quality piece and the detail is superb. The top is bordered with boxwood stringing and the legs also have inlaid stringing decoration.
It is in good condition for it's age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and a slight raised area on the top surface (see photos) but no major damages. A small area of stringing has been replaced at some point but it hasn't affected the piece and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
