A fine example of an early 19th Century Tea Caddy. It has a flush inlaid military style brass handle and matching escutcheon. The box has an attractive tight beaded moulding around all edges and stands on small bun feet. It comes with its original working key.
The interior is lined with beautiful flame mahogany and it comes with two lidded compartments and a cut glass mixing bowl.
It is in very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina. The glass bowl is undamaged with a lovely ring to it although the linings inside the tea compartments have worn over time. There are some minor signs of age and use, some marks and minor surface scratches but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
