A lovely Regency rosewood drum table dating from the early 19th century. The beautifully figured rosewood top is segmented into eight pieces inlaid with stringing. It has eight drawers, four real and four dummy drawers, each with their original brass knobs. The table stands on a turned column with 4 splayed supports and brass cap castors. There is further stringing on the legs and around the drawers. The top rotates and is held in place by a wooden pin but can be removed from the base.
It is in good condition for its age with a lovely rich patina. It is strong and sturdy and moves well on its castors. There are some small knocks, marks and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been sympathetically restored and there are some repairs to veneer chips and stringing around the drawers (see photos). It has been gently cleaned and polished and is displays beautifully and is ready for use.
