A good quality mahogany writing desk dating from the early 19th century. It has two drawers, each with small brass knobs and it stands on stylish turned and reeded legs with the original ceramic 'Cope & Collinson' castors. The top has an inset green leather writing surface with gilt tooled edging and a small raised shaped gallery on the back edge.
The desk is in very good condition. It has a lovely colour and the writing surface is in good order. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside with a few old marks and ink stains. There are normal signs of light wear and age but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
