A lovely example of a regency mahogany sofa table dating from the early 19th Century. It stands on shaped end supports, joined by a delicate turned stretcher with scrolling legs terminating in brass cap castors.
It has two drop leaves supported by small hinged wooden flaps. There are two drawers at the front of the table, each with brass handles, and matching dummy drawers on the opposite side.
It is in excellent condition for its age and has a lovely rich colour. There are some minor signs of age and use but nothing detrimental or untoward. The stretcher has some historic breaks which have been repaired and it is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
