A fine example of an early 19th Century Tea Caddy. It is an attractive sarcophagus shape with brass lions head handles and matching brass feet and the main body is edged with chequerboard stringing. The mahogany has a wonderful colour and flamed grain and it comes with its original working key.
Inside it has two lidded compartments and it comes complete with a beautiful cut glass mixing bowl.
It is in very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina. The glass bowl is undamaged with a lovely ring to it. The linings inside the tea compartments have worn over time and there are some minor signs of age and use, some marks and small splits but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
