An attractive Regency Longcase Clock by Howdens of Edinburgh dating from circa 1810. It has an 8-day striking movement and round dial signed with the makers name. The face has traditional Roman numerals, blued steel hands, a second hand and date hand.
The case is made from mahogany with beautifully figured veneers. The face is enclosed by a glass cover with brass rim which has its original key. Two reeded pillars flank the door which also has its original key. The clock stands on small bracket feet below a square panelled base.
The clock is in good working order and comes with a pendulum, two weights and winding key.
