A lovely mahogany pedestal dining table dating from the early 19th Century. It has a beautifully figured mahogany top with two hinged leaves supported by small wooden flaps. It has a drawer at one end, mirrored with a dummy drawer at the other end, both with brass lions head handles. It stands on an elegant pedestal base with a turned support and four splayed reeded legs terminating in brass lions paw casters.
It is an excellent quality piece and the mahogany has a wonderful rich colour and patina. With both leaves out the table is a good size and would comfortably seat 4-6.
It is in very good condition and displays well. It is strong and sturdy and the leaves are flat and easy to put up and the drawer opens well. There are some general signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light surface marks but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
