A good quality mahogany carver chair dating from the early 19th century. It stands on turned front legs with rear sabre legs and it has gently curving reeded arms. The back panel has a pretty inlaid ebonised strung design. The seat has been recently re-covered in a good quality green leather with a studded border which makes the chair very suitable for use as a desk chair.
The chair is in good condition for its age and has a lovely rich patina. It has been well looked after and maintained over the years and as such has a few good old repairs but nothing detrimental and the chair is strong and sturdy. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
