A superb quality mahogany chiffonier dating from the early 19th Century. It has a long drawer above two nicely figured cupboard doors enclosing a shelved interior. The cupboard doors are flanked by beautifully carved corbels. At the back is a small raised shelf supported by turned columns with a shaped gallery.
It is in good original condition and is a sturdy piece. It is excellent quality and the figuring of the timber is beautiful. The original polish has worn in places on the doors but the whole piece has been gently waxed and this has created a wonderful patina. There are some signs of age and use and some surface marks and some light knocks and scuffs around the base plinth but nothing detrimental and it displays well.
