An elegant mahogany card table dating from the early 19th century. The top edges have a beaded border typical of the regency period and a central carved motif. It stands on a large column support with further carved detail and the same repeating beaded border around the quatrefoil base. It has large lions paw feet with brass castors below.
The table top swivels and opens out into a card table, the inside lined with green baize, and on turning the top it reveals a small storage area below.
It is in very good condition with a lovely rich colour and grain. It is strong and sturdy with no major damages and is ready for use. There are signs of age and use, some surface marks and knocks and a small split in the base but nothing untoward. The baize has a few small marks and a little bit of wear along the crease but it is certainly still usable. The table has not been completely repolished and there are some minor areas of wear in the finish but it has been cleaned and waxed and displays well.
