A lovely mahogany chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. They are a good large size with an attractive bow front and they stand on bracket feet. The drawers have brass lions head handles and inlaid bone escutcheons.
It is in very good condition for its age with a nice colour and patina. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside with some old green lining paper in the bases. There are the usual signs of wear and use, some minor old marks and knocks, small repairs to the veneer around the drawers and a small old shrinkage split on one side but nothing untoward or detrimental. There are signs of old worm in the back boards which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
