A beautiful mahogany bow fronted chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. Excellent quality and very well made with a lovely patina and attractive flame mahogany drawer fronts. It is set on sweeping bracket feet and has brass plate handles. Although the handles are not original they suit the piece well.
It is in good condition for its age. The drawers open well, having had their runners recently replaced or repaired, and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are the usual small signs of wear, some minor marks on the top and some repairs to chips in the veneer around the drawers and a small repair to the back corner but nothing detrimental. There have been repairs to both back feet but they are strong and sturdy. The chest has been cleaned and gently waxed and is ready for use.
