Product Details

A fine example of an early 19th Century Tea Caddy. It is an attractive sarcophagus shape with wooden ring handles and small bun feet. It is made from rosewood with beautiful mother of pearl inlaid decoration.

It has two lidded compartments with similar inlaid decoration and a velvet lined compartment in the centre which would have once contained a mixing bowl.

It is in very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina. The linings inside the tea compartments have worn over time and there are some minor signs of age and use, some marks and chips on the feet but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
