A beautiful gilt framed overmantel mirror dating from the early 19th Century. The mirror itself is flanked by three columns with acanthus leaf decoration and the mirror has a reeded ebonised slip. The mirror glass is original with a nice beveled border and a wonderful aged patina with lots of wear and foxing.
The mirror is in good condition and the gilding is fresh and bright. It has suffered some minor losses and small damages over the years and there are areas of overpainting but nothing detrimental and it still displays well. The mirror has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
