A fine example of a beautiful sarcophagus shaped box dating from the early 19th Century. It is veneered in a beautiful Birds Eye Maple with ebony banding. It has brass carrying handles on the side and it stands on small turned bun feet.
The interior is fitted with three small lidded sections and there is a pink paper lining below the lid. It comes with a working key.
It is in very good condition for its age and has been well made and well looked after. The colour and patina of the wood is superb. There are some minor signs of age and use, a few small marks and knocks and some minor shrinkage around the panels but nothing detrimental. The interior is generally clean and tidy and overall it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
