Product Details

Superb example of a primitive Windsor chair with a solid Elm seat. It has a hoop back with a three piece arm that slightly curves outwards. The chair stands on four simple legs joined by a H-stretcher. It is a good comfortable chair, sturdy and well made. The patina on the seat is stunning and the chair has a fantastic look with layers of original paint worn away over the years.

It is approximately 39" (99cm) high and the arms are 20" (51cm) wide. The seat is 15" (38cm) deep and stands 17" (43cm) high.

It is in excellent condition for its age. It has developed a lovely deep patina and is structurally very sound, having had the joints gently and sympathetically strengthened. There is a small old repair in the join of the arm at the back of the chair and it is not without some signs of age and use but bothing detrimental and it displays beautifully.
