A decorative naive oil painting of a sheep in a countryside scene in a thick period oak frame with gilt slip. The painting is on board and is signed in the bottom right corner "G.Davidson". There is writing on the back with reference to Shrewsbury and various names, perhaps referring to an agricultural show.
It measures approximately 17" (43cm) wide x 15" (38cm) high including the frame.
The painting is in good original condition. The varnish used to seal the painting has crackled over time but there are no major damages. The painting has only been lightly cleaned to retain its aged patina but it displays very well and is ready to hang.
