A fine pair of hand painted porcelain plaques by William Rayworth (1852-1905). Rayworth was a Crown Derby artist from 1861-1880 and they are beautifully painted depicting still life scenes of fruit on a marble counter.
Each is framed in their original gilt frames with gilt slips. On the rear of one frame is a label for "W.Bowd. Practical Carver, Gilder and Picture Frame Maker. 103 & 290 Normanton Road, Derby"
They are in very good condition for their age. There are no damages to the paintings and the colours are bright and vibrant. The frames have suffered some small losses and damages over the years (see photos) but the gilding is bright and they display well.
