A lovey pair of Windsor style farmhouse chairs dating from the mid to late 19th Century. They have shaped elm seats and unusual carved support bars. They stand on turned legs joined by H-stretchers.
The chairs stand approximately 33" (84cm) high. The seats are 15 1/2" (39cm) wide, 15" (38cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.
They are in good original condition with a nice colour. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks on the seats and around the legs and minor old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. There are some signs of historic worm in one of the chairs which has been treated as a precaution and both chairs are strong and sturdy. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
