A lovely pair of small oil paintings on canvas dating from the mid to late 19th Century. They are likely continental in origin and depict countryside scenes, featuring figures and a lakeside cottage. They are well executed with lots of detail and are very decorative.
They are both framed in their original gilt and gesso frames.
The paintings are in good condition for their age. There are a few small surface marks and signs of wear but no major damages and the colours are bright and vibrant. There are a few small knocks and minor losses around the frame but nothing detrimental and the gilding is clean and bright. The paintings have been lightly cleaned and are ready to hang.
