A fabulous pair of hand carved wooden bookends dating from the early to mid 20th Century. They are likely continental in origin and depict a traditionally dressed couple, the female holding a basket and the male smoking a pipe. They are very decorative with humorous faces and are nice quality pieces.
They are in good original condition with a lovely patina. There are minor signs of age and use but no damages. They have been cleaned and lightly polished and are ready for use.
