A lovely pair of leather club chairs dating from the early 20th Century. They are very comfortable with a sprung seat and the original leather cushions. They are nicely proportioned and have a stylish shape with a curved back, bulbous overstuffed arms, short square feet and studded detailing around the backs.
They measure approximately 28" (71cm) high, 35" (89cm) deep and the arms are 32" (81cm) wide across. The seats are approximately 16" (41cm) high and 22" (56cm) deep
They are in good condition for their age and are both very sturdy. They have developed a lovely worn and aged patina but, like many of these chairs, the fragility of the leather means we wouldn't recommend them for everyday use.
There are signs of age and wear and various marks and scuffs around the chairs. The leather has cracked and flaked in places and there is a small tear on one side which has been repaired. There have been various other small repairs and the bottom piece of leather below the cushion on one chair has some splits. There are signs of woodworm in the front panels of both chairs which have been treated as a precaution.
The chairs have been cleaned and treated with a leather enriching cream to preserve their patina and feed the leather.
