Product Details

A stunning pair of leather club chairs, most likely French, dating from the early 20th Century. They are extremely comfortable with a sprung seat and the original leather cushions. They are nicely proportioned - not too big and bulky but big enough for a man to sit very comfortably in. They have a lovely simple shape with a slightly curved back, short square feet and studded detailing around the arms and backs.

They measure approximately 29" (74cm) high and the arms are 30" (76cm) wide across. They are approximately 30" (76cm) deep.

They are in very good condition for their age and are the nicest example I have seen in a long time. They are both very sturdy with solid frames and no signs of worm. They have developed a lovely worn and aged patina without any major damages and have been treated with a leather enriching cream to preserve that patina. There are signs of age and wear and various marks and scuffs around the chairs but nothing detrimental. There is a small tear on the inside back which has been repaired (see photo), a small tear on the corner of the cushion and another larger rip on the side which has also been well repaired (see photo). The back of one chair has been completely replaced with a new piece of leather but has retained the original studs and looks good and is a good match for the chair.
