Product Details

A lovely matching pair of ship's lamps manufactured by Alfred Genton in the early to mid 20th Century. They are made of copper coated metal with a hanging handle, and a chimney. They have a round blue glass centre with a protective cage. They both have a maker's plaque impressed "Alfred F Genton Ltd. Syren Works. Washington St. Birmingham. England".

They would have originally been fitted with oil burners but these have been removed and it looks like they were once converted to electric due to the holes in the top. They are currently empty and could be wired again or a simple candle could be placed under them.
Approximate Measurements:
Height : 16" (40cm) including handle
Width : 9" (23cm)
They are in good original condition. The copper has been lightly cleaned and polished in order to retain the aged patina and there are many areas of tarnishing and wear. The glass is original and undamaged and both lights display very well. There are a few small knocks and small dents here and there (one that I have photographed) but nothing major.
