Product Details

A matching pair of solid Sterling silver serving spoons. They are a simple design with an engraved armorial stags head on the tip of the handle. They are good quality pieces weighing approximately 124g in total.

Each spoon is hallmarked for Dublin and the maker Michael Keating. They do not have date marks but the maker and the shape of the other hallmarks help to narrow down the date of manufacture to circa 1770 - 1780.

They are in good condition for their age and they display well. There are signs of age and use, some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. There are three small marks on one handle which could be an old repair or just a blemish (see photo). The spoons have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
Approximate Measurements:

Length : 8 1/4" / 21cm

Bowl : 3" / 7.5cm x 1 1/2" / 4cm
