A pair of Dutch Delft plates dating from the late 18th Century. The centre of each plate is decorated with a blue and white chinoiserie scene with foliage around the rim. The edges are painted with traditional ochre colored slip.

The rear has a foot rim and 'hatchet' makers mark for De Porceleyne Bijl (The Porcelain Axe) (Delft, South Holland, The Netherlands, 1657-1803)

They are in good condition for their age and display well. There are no major chips or cracks, just some knocks and small losses around the edges (see photos).
