A very decorative mid 20th century pub sign for the "Royal Standard". It is hand painted on both sides showing a knight on horseback with flag and shield. It is held within an ebonised wooden frame with metal strapping.
It is in good original condition with a lovely authentic patina. There are of course signs of age and use as you'd expect and one side in particular is a bit more faded and worn than the other but it still displays well. There are some minor losses around the frame and some minor rust and corrosion on the metal strapping but nothing detrimental.
