A fantastic desk lamp made by "Bestlight" dating from the early 20th Century. It has a fully adjustable chrome arm and is set on a heavy round base. The shade is also adjustable and swivels on a ball joint at the end of the arm. The base and shade are both painted with the original cream paint. It is stamped "Bestlight" and also marked "British. Rd 762006".
It is in good original condition. There are general signs of age and use, some small knocks around the base and minor dings in the shade but nothing detrimental. The paint has slightly crackled with age and the chrome has tarnished in places but overall it displays very well. It is in fully working order and has been PAT tested. It has been re-wired to modern standards with a new chrome bulb holder to take a normal bayonet bulb.
The base of the lamp has a diameter of approximately 7" (18cm) and when upright the lamp stands approximately 19" (49cm) tall. Ideal size for use as a desk lamp or side table.
