A good quality and very decorative oil on canvas painting of a distinguished gentleman with a gold fob chain dating from the 19th Century. It is framed in a good quality period birds eye maple frame with a gilt slip.
The painting is in good original condition. There are signs of age, some surface marks and a couple of old repairs but overall it displays well. There are signs of age and use around the frame, particularly a small chip on one corner of the gilt slip and some other minor splits and losses but nothing detrimental. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
